Post & Packaging
Post ~ Here at Aquaphot we usually use the local Post office for deliveries under 2kg. With any item over the value of £50, or if it is urgent send by Special Delivery. Special Delivery ~ Guarantees 12 noon next working day delivery (not incl. Saturday), Covers up to £250 compensation, cover can be extended to £2,500, Only available for Post within Gt.Britain Courier ~ Initial City-Link has been our choice for the past 5 years on goods of high value or over 2kg and they will deliver next day, or offer a timed service (specified by the customer). They will also deliver Saturdays. Aquaphot can arrange collections using Initial City-Link (although an extra charge is levied) Initial City-Link also deliver worldwide. Packaging ~ Padded Bag ~ Only use padded bags for sending small items that do not have any protrusions to get broken off or squashed in the delivery van / sorting office machine, Padded bags are ideal for sending 'O'-ring kits or housing gears, but padded bags get twisted and bent so does the item inside! Please do not send cameras in padded bags, use a box. Box ~ Always use a good sturdy box. The Post office sell a range of sizes suitable for most equipment. The ideal packaging for inside the box is probably bubble wrap. Although the polystyrene chips are just as good (but can be dusty). Using screwed up newspaper will also act as a suitable substitute, but does tend to compress over rough journeys. .The equipment should be placed inside a plastic bag and take up no more than 2/3 of the box space allowing plenty of room for cushioning material between it, the box and the inside of an unfriendly van
